| We are located 90 miles South of Jackson, Ms., on 180 acres of land consisting of pasture, ponds and woodlands. Our dogs enjoy regular romps along Magee Creek which begins on our property, hence the name for our facility MAGEE CREEK LABRADORS! We have been raising Labs for over 11 years; beginning with our first Lab, MCLs Cole Black (CKC) and later additions; MCLs Dixie Darlin' and MCLs Bama Girl. Cole proved to be the most loyal, loving friend and I never made a step that he didn't take alongside me. He passed away June 3, 2008 at the ripe old age of 13 (91years in dog age) under a large oak tree in our yard. He is buried there today and is sadly missed as my "critter" getter. You could bet no stray coon, opossum, or SKUNK was going to cross our yard without a loosing battle with Cole! He was worth his weight in gold when it came to trailing downed deer and would hold 'em down after trailing one if it was only wounded. He helped herd our cows and proved to be an excellent "catch" dog for those stubborn cows who thought they were going to avoid capture by heading for the pond....only to have Cole dive in after them and convince them that they were better off in the catch pen with the rest of the herd. What a good, all around dog this remarkable lab was for our family. Friend, defender of the territory, cow dog, and fearless foe who forever won our hearts. Cole created a love of the breed and a dedication to see it flourish within in me and to this day I still enjoy watching a good dog work! |
